Sapid Holdings Limited
Background
Sapid Holdings Limited grew from an entrepreneurial vision
of leveraging the training, experience and exposure of the
founder to improve the quality of service in various areas,
primarily maritime related, as well as taking advantage of
extant opportunities in the Nigerian market.
Following a 20-year career in the Nigerian Customs Service,
William Nkemdirim desired an entrepreneurial outlet to
realise his vision of improved service delivery. He
conceptualised many ideas, and chose to build from strength.
Sapid Agencies Limited, formerly J.K. Irechukwu and Sons
Ltd, was incorporated in 1984 as the first firm in the
group, drawing on the experience, exposure and passion of
the founder.
Sapid Agencies commenced as a freight handling company
offering much more than clearing and forwarding. The firm
soon expanded its scope into the management of bonded
warehouses and running of off-dock terminals. Success came
from the enhanced professionalism Sapid Agencies brought to
bear in rendering service as well as a willingness to
explore new areas and add value. Organic growth led to the
establishment of Sapid Haulage and Equipment Company Limited
to take advantage of extant opportunities in logistics
handling and management unearthed by the operations of Sapid
Agencies.
Sapid Haulage and Equipment Company now offers integrated
logistics management services involving haulage of
containerised cargo, leasing
of logistics equipment, warehouse management as well as
consulting on import and export operations. Sapid Holdings
Limited requires heavy investment to tap the enormous
potential unearthed by its operations. Continued growth in
the triple digits is indicated in this sector.
Sapid has leveraged on the experiences garnered in managing
her off dock facilities as well as the Customs Overtime
Cargo terminal to take the bold step of establishing an
inland container depot in Abia State, Nigeria. The Ntigha,
Isiala Ngwa Inland Container Depot is an entrepreneurial
response to the call of the Federal Government for private
sector participation in development and management of port
infrastructure. It draws from and strengthens the
credentials of Sapid Holdings in maritime-support
operations.
Bill + Brothers, the marketing services and manufacturing
firm, has made steady in-roads into institutional markets
with its water purification and water dispensing equipment.
Bill +Brothers markets a range of products in water
purification, fruit drinks and pharmaceuticals.
